Well I took the weenie way out about the little green trees on the shutters. I did them in french knots in Trebizond Silk in Cypress Green #718. This stocking may have too many french knots before it’s all over but I will be a master at making them!
The shutters I stitched in brick stitch using Fleur de Paris Velour Yarn in color #65 (or a tan). I thought I’d do the tan row across the top of the ship in the same thread but make the brick stitch horizontal instead of up and down.
The window frame is done in one strand of Trio by Brown Paper Packages, Color T30 – Daffodil, in Mosic Stitch. The windows themselves are done in basketweave in Rainbow Galleries Fyre Werks Soft Sheen Color FT11 (black). It makes a very pretty shiny black window. The candles are stitched in Rainbow Gallery’s Petite Very Velvet in V63 (a christmas red) and the flames on the candles are Kreinik Tapestry Braid #12 in 091 (a shiney yellow).
I used the same Very Velvet on the red ribbon as well as a single strand of Impressions in color 3041.
I meant to note that on the ark, I used two skeins of Needle Necessities Perle 5 in color 5128. I think I probably could have gotten by with just one, but I was afraid if I didn’t that the change in the dye lots might be noticeable if I didn’t kind of mix them up on the ark so I opened both and now can’t really tell whether I’d have a whole one left or not.
